Counseling

I provide individual counseling for adults and older adolescents experiencing depression, anxiety, difficulty adjusting to life changes or transitions, excessive worry, anger, and feelings of frustration with current life circumstances.  Additionally I provide couples therapy for those who would benefit from improved communication skills, working through life transitions, conflict resolution, parenting skills or revitalization of the relationship.  

In counseling we will work to develop what goals you would like to accomplish and utilize a variety of strategies including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, communication enhancement skills, relaxation, and strengths based therapy.

 
 

I sought telehealth therapy late in 2020 to help me build habits and improve my thought processes that were contributing to anxiety and depression.  I had started antidepressant medication that I was confident would be helpful, but I wanted to work on myself also so that I could eventually come off the medication and use my new skills to help me live my best life.  Dr. Senn understood my goals and helped me to reach them.  She asked questions that caused me to look at scenarios in a different way and really think about my reactions to them.  She encouraged me to try several self-help tools and supported my instinct that it would be a little bit of everything that would help me best in the long run.  After several months, I was feeling great and was ready to try it on my own.  I have been doing well all on my own.  I so appreciate her thoughtful analysis and nudges in the right direction.  I will surely check back in with her if need be in the future.”
